  4. History • The town was founded probably in the end of the 12th century. • The first written record comes from a document by Queen Guta of Habsburg and dates back to August 1, 1293. • (The town of Guta is in Czech called Jitšino město)

  5. Albrecht of Wallenstein • The most famous period of Jičín was between 1620 – 1634. • At that time Jičín became a residence of Duke Albrecht of Wallenstein. • The duchy was a state within a state.

MOA • 1922 – a public Commercial Academy founded • 1931 – the building of the school finished Name: Masaryk’s Public Commercial Academy • 1945 – established a four-year Commercial Academy with the name of Masaryk’s Commercial Academy • the 50s – the school was renamed to ‚Higher Economic School‘ • the 60s – the 80s – name Secondary Economic School Masaryk commercial academy

MOA • 1990 – restored the name of Commercial Academy • 1992 – returned the honorary name of Masaryk’s Commercial Academy • 1999 - 2000 – implemented the extension of a sport hall and reconstruction of the historic bulding • 2002 – 80-years-school anniversary celebration, unveiled the memorial plaque to Ing. Arch Č. Musil • 2002 – started a new specialization, i.e. Informatics in Economy Masaryk commercial academy
