SCOPH Standing Committee on PublicHealth. • SWG’s - Malaria, Neglected Diseases, TB, Paediatric projects, Healthy Ageing, the Canterbury declaration, Pharmaware, • Workshops on TBH internationally • Presentations from Liaison officers, WHO & UNESCO • Road safety grand discussion • Resources; posters, CDs, videos and promotional materials, handbooks and manuals.
SCORP PEACE TEST • AIMS- Raise awareness, stimulate discussion, challenge attitudes of high school children • Questionnaire- 20 Q’s: Violence, War, Conflict Resolution, Human Rights, Tolerance • BASIS - Theory of Moral Disengagement, Albert Bandura • DISCUSSION- no right answers/ judgement. • Collate, analyse data. • Immigration • Diverse • Personal Development • Interest, Responsibilities • Community Tolerance
SCOPE:What was achieved? • Contracts Fair • Signed 84 contracts with 32 different countries • 12 more contracts than last year(!) • Negotiated new & exciting exchange destinations • Small Working Groups • Improving the database • Academic quality • Marketing exchanges • Problem solving

Campaigns • Medsin SWG discussed how to make campaigns a priority • Had a great debate about the role of Big Pharma and drug pricing • Our ukAM priorities were: • Healthy Planet • UAEM • PharmAware • Who4Who • T-shirts, project stall, presentations at SCOPH
Campaign Policies • The AEM theme raised loads of great PharmAware campaign issues • Successfully passed the Philadelphia Consensus Statement (UAEM) • Canterbury Declaration calling for better AEMpassed (PharmAware, UAEM, StopAIDS etc) • Environmental policy failed • “No pharma-funding” policy taken away • Who4Who policy failed • BUT lessons learnt, global pharma team formed and new directions are being investigated.
SWGs • All delegates contributed to Medsin's 10 year plan • Split into branches, projects and campaigns • Came back together to report ideas • Delegates also chose 1 of the following 4 to attend: • Improving GAs and Conferences • Priority Campaigns – how to make them a priority • Training • Strengthening Support for Branches • Minutes were written up which will contribute to: • The concerted effort to continue to increase the voice and influence of Medsin’s members (we grassroots!) • All National Committee meetings and decision making • Further SWGs on similar topics
