POST INVESTIGATION ACTIONS What is my point? • Why are we going to invest $$$$$ into systems if all we are going to do is investigate one theft/thief at a time? • Keep in mind….there is no body of knowledge….no data…no evidence to suggest that crime (particularly violence) is reduced or mitigated by the use of CCTV. • If there is a Return on Investment with CCTV or with some form of Business Intelligence with or without CCTV images…that is another story….maybe??? However, how is it going to be used? • Why are we going to expend precious LP/Asset Protection/Security resources into minor theft cases? • Why are we going to expend LP/Asset Protection resources into repeated theft issues. • Once we have the stealing lowlife identified…what do we do with the scoundrel?.

POST INVESTIGATION ACTIONS • We need to : • Conduct an effective and serious post mortem. • Determine Causal Factors: • Lack/Insufficient Training • Poor Hiring Practices • Lack of Discipline/ Inconsistent Discipline • Management Ineptitude • Management Indifference • This list is NOT all inclusive. • If we do not take these into consideration…..
