What is the purpose of CATS • Developed in 2006 to manage nurses information • Communicates licensure information to Vandyworks (the scheduling system for nurses) • Centralized database • Stand alone • Vanderbilt Performance Evaluation System
Purpose, continued This data is imperative to a number of reports including: • Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicator Reporting (NDNQI) • Magnet annual report • 100 top ten hospital data • various School of Nursing requests • Human Resources • Research Grants
Who accesses CATS? • Nurses can view their individual information (read only) • Manager’s and/or their designate can add/update information • Human Resources via VPES (evaluation)
