Mrs.Duming • This lady here came to tell us about pioneer life, how they lived, and what they did.
The Jumping Jack • This toy is called the jumping jack. Kids used this for playing. • As you can see, this toy is made out of wood.
Bonnets • Women has to wear bonnets to cover their heads from the sun when they worked. • Older women wore bonnets that cover their necks because they had to wear their hair up.
Scythe • The scythe was used for farming. • They used it to cut grass so they could use the land for farming.
Cotton Carder • Cotton carder was used to separate the seeds from the cotton.
The Soap • This is soap, it was used for cleaning and washing. • It is made out of lye and animal fat.
Knitting • Women knit socks with yarn and wooden knitting sticks. • Children also learn to knit when they are about 4.
For horses • The filer was for horses to file their hooves • The horse shoe was used to keep the horses foot in place.
