  1. Welcome to Photo Story Training EETT Training #2 Amy Coots, Jane Spohn, & Craig Stage March 29, 2010 *The sign in sheet will be passed around.

  2. Photo Story Description • It is a Microsoft application that allows you to create “digital stories” from digital photos. It uses what is called a Ken Burns Effect, or pan and scan to create more interesting presentations. You can add effects, transitions, narration (headsets are part of the equipment in the EETT grant). • Ultimately you will have a Windows Media Video file. • Photo Story 3.1- Latest version

Photo Story • Photo Story is a free download. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/PhotoStory/default.mspx • Example: http://www.greece.k12.ny.us/task/photostory/ps3demos.htm #9 First Grade Memories • Use it @ home  • We will be getting headsets with microphones with the EETT grant.

  4. Photo Story Please launch Photo Story. Task: • 2 slides in Power point imported into Photo Story • At least 1 picture slide (but more would be better)

  5. How to create a Photo Story: Craig • You can click on pictures and delete. • You can move them around.

Photo Story: Ideas for Digital Storytelling • Primary level: shapes, colors, phonics, numbers, weather, My Hero, family tree • Day-in-the-life-of project • Show/demonstrate a science project/scientific method • Field trip presentation • Introduction to the school • “How to” demonstration (write a paper and demonstrate steps/process) • Descriptive writing • Book review/Book report/Book trailers

Continued- • Interview (use photos from interview) • Take an essay or paper and match photos to it • A year in review (pictures through the year in your class w/ music and/or audio) • Special event presentation/orientation/Track & Field Day or Academic Field Day • About me presentation/Autobiography/Life Story • Biography on an individual • Any research project • Story themes • Geometry –real world application • History related presentation
