Poste ItalianeS.p.A. and the Italian Postal Unions have signed important agreements on 13 and 27 July 2010 whichprovide for a significantreorganization of the deliverysector : A logisticsplatformstructured in 5 workingdays; Postal products and services deliveredfromMonday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Saturday deliveryprovidedonly for certain types of deliveriessuch as newspapers and registered mail Complete the reorganization process by 31 May 2011
Impact on employment and actions for rightsizinghumanresources Impact on employment: A staff reductionresultingfromcuts in mail delivery in some areas - 4,656 Postmen immediately transferred and assigned to the new “Saturday or afternoon” mail delivery services + 1,297 TOTAL REDUCTIONS IN MAIL DELIVERY AREAS - 3,359 Reduction of work for sorting mail and reductionofwork and workforce in establishments handling mail items- 2,498 T O T A L - 5,857
Moreover, within the first half of 2011 Poste Italiane S.p.A. will have to buy: 1,000 vehicles 200 scooters 50cc with a low seat height (especially for women) 1,500 electric vehicles ideals for historical centres 1,300 bikes modular boxes for mail delivery in rural and mountain areas, starting from Sardinia in order to improve its delivery service

Professional Retraining For all the staff transferred to new locations and assigned other duties will be ensured a plan for retraining aimed at: Maintaining and enhancing existing knowledge and skills ENCOURAGING THE STAFF TO UPGRADE THEIR SKILLS IN LINE WITH THE NEW ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS AND THE CHANGING MARKET REALITY • This PROFESSIONAL training WILL BE financed by a “SOLIDARITY” fund. workerS WOULD CONTRIBUTE 0.125 PER CENT of THEIR monthly INCOME WHILE POSTE ITALIANE 0.375 PER CENT.
