The Fear of the Lord Two kinds of Fear of the Lord • Fear of the Lord of unrepentant sinner Isaiah 2:10,19,21 (NIV) Go into the rocks, hide in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendour of his majesty! [19] People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendour of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth. [21] They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendour of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.
The Fear of the Lord 2. Fear of the Lord from the believer But for born again Christians, our Lord has redeemed, justified, and sanctified us. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For god did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Fear of the Lord 4. OBEDIENCE TO GOD Deuteronomy 17:19 (NIV) ...That he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees.
The Fear of the Lord Deuteronomy 10:12,20 (NIV) And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, [20] Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.
What will be our motivation to obey God? Jesus says, "If you love Me, you will keep my commandments" John 14:15 John 14:21,23 (NIV) Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” [23] Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
Three results of our loving obedience. • Father will love us .... Will be love by my father Psalm 103:17 The loving-kindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting to those who fear Him.
2. He will disclose Himself to us .... Show my self to them. He will reveal something intimate about His person to one who loves Him. Psalm 25:14 The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him.
3. Abiding presence of the Father and Son in one’s soul. .... We will come to them and make our home with them.
Benefits of Fear of the Lord 1. True wisdom Job 28:28 (NLT) ... 'The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.'
2. God will teach them the way Psalm 25:12 (NIV) Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. 3. God will reveal His secret to those who fear the Lord Verse 14 The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him. And He will shoe them His covenant.
4. Will live longer Proverbs 10:27 (NLT) Fear of the Lord lengthens one's life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.
How are we going to receive it? If-then. Step by step how to receive Proverbs 2:1-5 (NIV) My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, [2] turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding--- [3] indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, [4] and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, [5] then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
Knowledge of God cannot be separated from the fear of the Lord.
