  2. Problem • Child Abuse is the mistreatment of kids in a physical, mental, verbal, sexual abuse or neglect. This affects the child's behavior. They can react in many ways including feeling guilty, more frequent illness, more emotional problems, and are insecure. In some cases, it causes them death. In 2010, 5+ children died every day due to child abuse. We shape children's lives, sometimes we don’t even notice. We play a role in raising kids to a healthy development. This is a national problem because each year thousands of children are victims.

  3. Causes to Child Abuse • Divorce ; mothers are responsible to 49% of all child abuse. • Young Pregnancy ; usually caused by being to young for a big responsibility. • Drugs/Alcohol ; the children become young abusers of these due to the abuse.

  4. 3 Possible Solutions • Report any seen or known child abuse. • Give young pregnant mothers information on how to care for children • Bigger and more affective punishments to parents.

  5. Reporting Child Abuse • This is the best solution. Once its reported the children are free from the abuse. They have a chance to be part of a loving family, which is all they really need and want. Their worries are gone and no longer will live in fear of being abused by him/her.

  6. Our Letter February 7, 2012 Dear Senator Carper, We are writing to address the abuse that young children fear and experience. This abuse causes death in some cases. We have came up with a solution that we think will help put an end to child abuse. The most effective way to end abuse is to report it! Encouraging young children or adults who see the abuse to report it. Children are our future, making sure they have a healthy development is the most important thing to do when raising children. Maltreatment can cause them traumatizing experiences that will affect who they will become in the future. Simply encouraging and informing children or witnesses of abuse can help the abused to have a safe, loving environment. Children should not suffer the abuse, being a child should be one of the best times in life. We thank you for your time and hope that you take our solution in consideration.
