Local Government Association The Local Government Association (LGA) is run by its members A political organisation - elected representatives from all the different political parties direct the organisation Strive to agree a cross-party position on common issues and to speak with one voice on behalf of local government. Aim to set the political agenda and speak in the national media on the issues that matter to council members. Cover every part of England and Wales, and include all types of councils - fire, police, national park and passenger transport authorities
