Direct Application to PLC college – NOT on CAO 5 passes in the Leaving Cert Interview Qualifications FETAC (NCVA) Level 5 FETCA (NCVA) Level 6 Progression to 3rd level Higher Education Links Scheme Apply through CAO where a small no. of reserved places available for FETAC Applicants Places offered in ranked order Progression is from FETAC (NCVA) Level 5 & Level 6 Advanced Certificates Range of Courses: Secretarial Beauty Therapy/Hairdressing Medical/Dental Reception Tourism Animal Care Accounting Technician Legal Studies Child Care/Montessori Computers Interior Design Art Portfolio Preparation PLC’s

Specific Higher Education Link Scheme • Specific FETAC (NCVA) level 5 awards and some level 6 awards are linked to reserved places on higher education courses (University Degree) • These courses are identified by a course code. • They will have certain core modules that must be complete for eligibility • They must have a minimum of 5 distinctions in five modules • Candidates are advised to confirm details with Admissions Offices of the Appropriate institutions • www.fetac.ie & FETAC Requirements look up

  4. Gardaí • Advert in the national newspapers or • Register your interest on www.publicjobs.ie and receive an email. • An application form on www.publicjobs.ie • Leaving Certificate results are required • Interview & Aptitude Test & Medical

  5. Leaving Certificate 5 passes in L.C. Maths Proficiency in 2 languages, one of which must be Irish or English Or Level 5 FETAC award 3 Stages: Stage 1: Will comprise of three written tests Test 1: Verbal evaluation Test 2: Analytical Reasoning Test 3: Job Simulation Exercise Stage 2: Will include elements like a written communication exercise and an interview. Stage 3: Will include a medical examination and may also include a physical ability test Entry requirements

  7. Hospitality: Education and Training Centre – www.lcfet.ie Career Traineeships combined with direct off-the-job training centre with on-the-job training. Courses commence with classroom-based learning. Skills and knowledge further developed in the host company.

  8. CPA Accounts Executive Traineeships www.lwetb.ie This is for students who have recently left school. One year fully funded full time academic programme followed by a three-month work placement for ambitious school leavers wishing to pursue a career as a professional accountant. Entry requirements: 6 passes L.C.
