MEMBERSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP As at 30 June 2012, 51 “active” members, plus 2 honorary members Net gain of 2 members: Tim Sheehan and Celeste Neander Approx. 48 regular (fun and interesting) meetings Average attendance at meetings: approx. 60% (disappointing) Car Rally Christmas Function
DONATIONS: • The Rotary Foundation (incl. Polio Plus) $1,686 • Catherine House $1,000 • Shelter Box $1,000 • Briz West Care “Sail Away” program $799 • Australian Rotary Health “Hat Day” $500 • ECOMAN (Yeronga State High School) $500 • Queensland Youth Orchestra $500 • National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) sponsorship $500 • DIK $500 • LearnGrow $500 • Donations In Kind $500 • Glenleighden School, for learning and speech impaired $500 • Specific Purpose Donations: School of St. Jude ($200), PNG President Visit ($250), Storm the Stage ($200), RAWCS ($100) • TOTAL DONATIONS: $9,235
NEW GENERATIONS This year we have supported New Generations: • Nominated NYSF students, Casey Dunmall and Matthew Patterson • ECOMAN sponsorship and member participation, supporting Yeronga State High School • Supported the “Sail Away” program for troubled youth • Storm the Stage donation • “Tales from a Dilly Bag” allocation to 2 remote schools • Queensland Youth Orchestra donation
COMMUNITY SERVICE This year we have supported the Community: • Distribution of Flood Relief Donations: • McIntyre Centre, riding rehab for the disabled • A Grantham family in dire need • Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal • Clean Up Australia Day • Australian Rotary Health “Hat Day” support • Glenleighden School, for speech and learning impaired • Catherine House
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE This year we have supported the International Community: • The Rotary Foundation, including Polio Plus • Shelter Box (1 box) • Donations In Kind • Rotarians Against Malaria donation • LearnGrown donation • School of St. Jude • Attempt to secure a matching Global Grant (unsuccessful) for a water tank project in PNG
VOCATIONAL SERVICE We have supported and recognised Vocations this year: • Pride of Workmanship Award to Constable Nicole Keenan • Vocational visit to QIMR
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS MY BOARD • PP John Roberts x 2 for invaluable guidance • Craig Hausler for reliability and great humour as Club Secretary • Kathryn Draper for maintaining a tireless workload in so many ways, principally as Treasurer and Event Planner • Andrew Vincent for his wonderful people-skills and for 2012-13 • Brett Cribb (aka Roster King) for keeping the wheels turning • Peter Dixon for keeping RI and Club Foundations top-of-mind • Rachel Bowes for being a woman of “action” • Norm Hodgkinson for being Mr Indefatigable, even with health problems • Tim Sheehan for tackling everything asked of him with enthusiasm
