Resources Performance Rubrics http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=3784 • Posted rubrics are aligned to the INTASC and Oregon ISLLC-based standards • Districts may adopt or adapt; adaptations must be aligned to the standards • July 1, 2013 submission template will include check box for listed rubrics and upload for other rubrics /crosswalk • District selection of their rubric (adopt/adapt/develop) must be part of the collaborative design process

Resources Performance Rubrics Work underway: • Additional administrator rubrics will be posted by end of December 2012 • ODE & Education Northwest/ Regional Comprehensive Center developing administrator rubric directly aligned to the Oregon Educational Leadership/ISLLC Standards • Examples from school districts

  7. Resources Performance Rubrics • Future data will be collected based on the state adopted standards and Oregon’s Framework. ODE will work with stakeholders and technical experts to design a meaningful reporting system that takes into account rubrics that are “crosswalked” to the standards

Resources A collaborate design process is essential for adopting/adapting rubrics Self-assessment questions: • Do we have InTASC and Oregon ISLLC Standards already in place? • What are our plans to train our teachers/administrators on using the standards to promote effective practice? • Do we currently have a 4-level rubric in place that is aligned to the standards? • How does our rubric compare with the ODE provided samples? • Do we want to adopt/adapt these rubrics? If we adapt, what changes will we make? • Are there specialists who need different indicators to more accurately describe what they do? • What is our staff’s level of understanding of our rubric? • What are our plans to provide professional development to teachers and administrators?

Updated Timeline for 2013-14 • By July 1, 2013, all districts will submit their new evaluation and support systems and implementation plans for the 2013-2014 school year • During the 2013-2014 school year* • All evaluations of teachers and administrators will be under the new evaluation system (as per SB 290) • Districts will implement initial plans of their evaluation systems; utilizing this time to refine their local systems • Student learning and growth must be measured, however it does not have to be included in the summative evaluation

Updated Timeline By July 1, 2013 all districts will submit implementation plans for their revised evaluation system During the 2013-2014 school year • All evaluations of teachers and administrators will be under the new evaluation system to comply with SB 290 • Districts will implement initial plans for their revised evaluation and support systems and utilize this year to refine their local systems • Because it’s the first year, student learning and growth results will be not required in the summative evaluation
