  3. It is common to say and addwhat the regretexpressed is about, a comment or expresssympathy : • I´m sorry. That´s terrible news. • I´m sorry to hearthat. • I´m sorry. I hope everythingworksout fine soon. Expression of Regret

Whenwe “affect” someone, it is advisableboth to offer the apology and explain, offerrepair for the offense or promiseforbearance from similar situations in the future: • I apologize for the delay. I missedmyflight. • I apologize for the inconvenience. I´llbuy you a new one • I apologize for the confusion. It won´thappenagain. Offer of apology
