Who are the Kangaroos? • Most Kangaroo students are energetic, love to have fun and are inquisitive! • Grade 2 & 3 • Ages 6 – 9
Focus this year: • Akhlaq • Lessons from Prophets & Companions • Spirituality • Introduction to Usul & Furu’ al Deen
Aklaq • Examining the meaning of having good akhlaq. What does it mean to be humble/forgiving/soft spoken etc? • Look at stories from our Prophets and Imams and detect what Akhlaq they are trying to teach us • Use the Quran and Prophet Muhammad as the guide to perfect our Akhlaq
Lessons from Prophets & Companions • Discuss stories from the life of Prophet Mohammad and what we can learn from them; focus on kindness and love of the Prophet (sawa) • Examine the friendship between Prophet Musa and Khidr, focus on humbleness and seeking knowledge • Adam & Eve, focus on blaming others and seeking forgiveness
Spirituality • Understand Quran better; Tafseerand link to real life • Learn special dua’s for prayers, hajj, fasting and for our family • Focus again on Tawheed; presence of Allah in our lives
Introduction to Usul and Furu’ al Deen • Learn about Usul and Furual Deen • Why is it important that we learn about this? • Students learn basics of Usuland Furu’u al Deen
Akhlaq in Classroom • Encouraging good behavior in class and with others; • Setting our own classroom rules • “Manners bird” • Class Groups; exemplifying Allah’s names • Reading books
