  2. What is Track Changes? • Track Changes is a Microsoft Word tool used for tracking editorial changes in a document Benefits: • Easy to use! • Visually displays suggested changes

  3. After today’s session you will be able to: • Find Track Changes on your tool bar and turn it on and off • Insert and delete text and comments • Accept and reject changes • Describe 1 important benefit and 2 points to keep in mind

  4. Hands-on Exercise • In groups of 2 or 3, choose one person to open their e-mail called “Track Changes Exercise” and open the attached letter • Save the letter to your desk top! • Find the obvious spelling errors (hint: two per paragraph) and make changes using Track Changes. • Using your handout as a reference, explore accepting and rejecting changes and making comments.

  5. An important point to keep in mind: • Be careful not to confuse each other with which version of the document you should be working on. Communicating with your group and labeling each revision is very important!

  6. Review of Key Points • Where is Track Changes located? • How to: turn Track Changes on and off? • How to: insert and delete text and comments? • How to: accept and reject changes? • Describe: 1 important benefit and 2 points to keep in mind
