  2. What is the holiday? • The day commonly called as “Seolnal” is the first day of the lunar calendar. • It is the most important of the traditional Korean holiday.

  3. Who celebrates? • Korean New Year day is generally the same day as Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan, Vietnamese New Year day. • Everyone in the country, grandparents, cousin, uncle, aunt.

  4. When is it celebrated? • It is the first day of the lunar calendar , which comes on February 3rd. • It changes every year but is usually at the end of January or begins of February.

  5. Where is it celebrated? • People return to their home town to visit there parents. • Eat a special meal at home.

  6. Why is it celebrated • Celebrating the end of one year and beginning of a new year. • Most important family party of the year. • Celebrate living and dead family members. • Focus on the family and community.

  7. How is it celebrated? • Koreans wear Hanbok(a traditional Korean costume) • Eats a traditional Korean rice dumpling soup. • Plays many games such as Yutnori
