  9. Themes • Antihero- Luke defies authority, tries to change the way things are. • Religion- Luke questions God, faith, etc. • Individuality- Luke is trying to be his own person within the prison. In the end he becomes tired with the men rebelling vicariously through him.

  10. Film Technique Close Up: When the subject is tightly framed and shown at a relatively large scale. *Shows emotions, important details, etc.

  11. Film Techique Long Shot (wide shot): Shows all of something. Helps viewer get a sense of “place” *Follows Luke’s primary escape
