  2. Read B-47 • Copy this challenge question: What are three similarities and differences between natural diamonds and diamonds that are manufactured? Read the following: Manufactured gemstones are also referred to as man-made, synthetic, or cultured. Manufactured gemstones have extremely similar physical and chemical properties as the minerals they represent. Manufactured gemstones are less expensive than “the real thing”. People who purchase diamonds are sometimes concerned with the working conditions and political groups associated with the diamond mines.
