  3. United States of America • The landscape of the UnitedStates ranges from rugged mountains to flat prairies and from moist rain forests to dry deserts. The mountain ranges include the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada in the west and the Appalachian Mountains in the east.

  4. United States of America • The capitol city of our country is Washington D.C. • Dollars and cents are the types of money this country uses.

  5. United States of America Type of food Americans usually like to eat hamburgers and hotdogs. Apple pie is also considered an American food. Americans like to grill food and they celebrate with turkey at Thanksgiving.

  6. United States of America Animals in America The animals of the forest include bears, elk, deer, foxes, bobcats, beavers, opossums, and raccoons. Coyotes, prairie dogs, jackrabbits, and a few bison (buffalo) live on the grasslands. Desert animals include snakes, lizards, scorpions, and roadrunners.

  7. United States of America A Famous Citizen Helen Keller is a famous citizen of our country. HelenKeller was both blind and deaf. But despite these disabilities, she became a skilled writer and speaker.

  8. United States of America – Holiday Celebration • America Celebrates Christmas • It is held on December 25 • We say “Merry Christmas” to celebrate our holiday.

  9. United States of America - Holiday Celebration - Christmas • Most people put Christmas trees in their house. • Traditional colors are red and green. • Children hang stocking on the fire place for presents. • Santa Claus visits boys and girls on Christmas Eve and delivers presents.
