What is a CTPD Lead District? • Career-Technical Planning District (CTPD) – Local education agency configuration (comprehensive district, compact/contract district or joint vocational school district) that meets the minimum requirements of law and subsequent standards to offer state sanctioned career-technical programming. There are 91 such districts in Ohio.*(CTE Dictionary) • Lead District – The district responsible for approval of all career tech programs within the planning district. • The CTPD Plan and the school district membership of a CTPD must be approved by the State Board of Education. • Ohio has over 650 individual secondary school districts and each must belong to one of the 91 CTPD’s under a formal agreement to offer CTE programs that meet state and federal requirements. • Programs may be offered at: • A central location (at a JVS/CTC) • Satellite programs • Middle school delivery • Compact/Comprehensive districts (43 in Ohio)

CTPD Lead District Responsibilities (EMIS) • Assist districts with • CTE-26 Application • EMIS data elements for each reporting period • CTE-23 Follow-Up process • ODE CTE EMIS reports • CTE Program Reviews • WebXam support • Provide information to member districts • CCP credits earned • Transcripted articulated & CTAG college credits earned by shared students • Industry Credentials earned by shared students

  5. EMIS Elements • Ensure your member districts are aware of the “CTE” reporting periods • EMIS data elements and the correlation to the CTE-26 • CTE Program Codes (memberships) • CTSO • CTE Single Parent • CTE Program Area • CTE Program of Concentration

IRN • EMIS Subject Code • Use CTE-26 to determine • EMIS Subject Area for Credit • Use CTE-26 to determine • CORE Subject Area • Your home districts will love you if you mark for all classes… • CTE College Credit • Use POS to determine • Curriculum Type • Use CTE-26 to determine • Delivery Method • Most usually FF (Face to Face) • Student Population • Most usually RG (Regular) Program Codes • Academic Intervention Programs, WECEP, Career Assessment, CTE Single Parent, CTSO Codes, CCP • Career Technical Student Organization • Examples: • BPA – Business Professionals of America • FFA – formerly Future Farmers of America • Skills USA – formerly VICA • Single Parent (Performance Indicator) • Report this element for any student who is participating in a Career Technical program and is: • Married parent - male or female • Single parent - male or female • Single pregnant/expectant student – male or female • Use program code 305010 – CTE Single Parent Subgroup • Information on student Program Codes • EMIS Manual, GQ Record

CTE-23 Follow Up Process • Follow Up (D) Reporting – GV Record • Ensure you follow the ODE/Perkins guidelines when reporting and asking student questions. • CTSO Participation • Ensure district is tracking this information • On ODE website – search for “Follow Up” this will provide guidance, strategies and samples • ODE, Office of CTE is looking for a “Found” rate at or above 90%. This will only improve state-wide Perkins indicators. • Suggest using Social media to find students • The best resources are the instructors • Have used FFE (Flat File Editor – Excel spreadsheet) to report in EMIS • Additional references are: • ODE Career-Tech web site • EMIS Manual, GV Records

ODE CTE Reports for CTPD • These are found in the Data Collector under the Reports tab, Received Files • Have been loaded between April – September, 2018 • Help understand the latest report card as well as March assessment reporting • Use the EMIS>Resources>EMIS Presentations – OAEP Spring Conference CTE Reports/Report Card for additional information • EMIS Alliance sessions at your ITC • 2018 CTPD Enrollment • 2018 CTPD Met Retake • 2018 CTPD Tech Achiev • 2018 RPTCRD CTE Grad • 2018 RPTCRD CTPD Indicators Detail • 2018 RPTCRD CTPD Prep for Success • 2018D CTE CTPD TECH ASSMNT

CTE Program Reviews • Make your CTPD districts aware of the timeline/deadline of this process • May need to log into SAFE to help monitor the progress of reviews • More information available on ODE’s Career Tech Website • Career Tech>CTE Program Review • FAQ available • ODE Webinars are helpful to share • ODE Career Tech home page, bottom right of page • Also includes slide shows

WebXam Support for the CTPD • MVCTC assists all CTPD districts with on-going professional development training sessions • Assistance with all types of User Accounts • Set up a hierarchy so we can view results of member districts to help them troubleshoot • Assist with student load in October • Assist with EMIS reporting

WebXam Best Practices • Best Practices • EVERY STUDENT TESTS!! • Only one person loading students/staff • Search for an account prior to creating • Use student EMIS ID number • Never archive unless student graduated • Follow IEP/504 accommodations • Teachers can proctor their own tests! • Activate Test(s) • Ensure students complete test and submit • Run reports to view testing data • Individual • Expanded • Aggregate
