Goals of CNH projectfor Shuang Yang • Paper -Interactions between implementation of PES (migration) and local livelihood (demography), addressing PES policies (early 2015) - (If time allows) Interactions between environment changes and changes in human factors (environment changes will be measured by land use and land cover (LULC) changes with remote sensing technology) • Agent-based model (early 2015) - Integrate all human and environment (LULC) factors - Predict and visualize future livelihood (demographic) and LULC changes - Can ABM alone be a paper?

  2. Collected by myself - Socioeconomic survey data - PES survey data • From other team members - LULC remote sensing images - Vegetation classification data (if any) - Land parcel attributes data (if any)

  3. 2014 fieldwork - Leave US for China in early or middle of June - Train local helpers (one week) - Thank you gift for respondents and local officials who might help - Logistic arrangement (accommodate, transportation and so on) - Conduct survey on 700 households (about 4 weeks, vary with how many local helpers we hire) - Local data digitizing, correcting, cleaning, and compiling (one week) - Total estimated time for the fieldtrip: 6-7 weeks
