  3. What is a continent? • A continent is one of the largest bodies of land. What are the SEVEN continents? • North America • South America • Europe • Asia • Africa • Antarctica • Australia

  4. What is an ocean? • Any of the four largest bodies of water on Earth What are the four oceans? • Pacific Ocean • Atlantic Ocean • Indian Ocean • Arctic Ocean 

  5. What is a compass rose? A symbol on a map that shows direction.

  6. Globes • Make sure to practice reading a globe. • Let’s try some questions out together: • Can you find the North Pole? • Which ocean is between North America and Europe?
