  1. Welcome and Congratulations! Now you are on to Winnipeg May 29 - June 3, 2017

Skills Canada National Competition As a follow up to the Skills Ontario Competition, the Skills Canada National Competition • Brings together over 500 secondary, post-secondary and apprenticeship students from all areas of Canada to compete in over 40 trade and technology contests in an Olympic-style event.

University of Manitoba: Pembina Hall Residence • Each room is complete with its own private washroom and shower • Free wireless Internet is available throughout the entire building • Each of the ten residence floors has a lounge with a kitchenette, soft seating, and a flat screen HD television • The lounge on the 4th floor has a fully equipped kitchen for community use • Laundry facilities are located on the second floor.

University of Manitoba: Pembina Hall Residence • A one bedroom with private washroom Room Features: • Single Bed (adjustable height) - 36" wide x 80" long • Stackable storage drawers - 3 • Bookcase • Desk • Under-desk filing cabinet/drawer set • Desk chair • Storage drawer with padded seat • Washroom -- shower with shower door, sink/cabinet/mirror, and toilet

  6. Team Building (May 30th) 12:00 noon – Team meeting and lunch at Pembina Hall 2:00 pm - Depart University with tool boxes for your Team Building Event • Registration and Drop off Tool Boxes • Team building scavenger hunt

  7. Team Ontario Packages Include • Registration fees for 2017 National Competition • Return flights with Air Canada including all airport taxes • Baggage fees for maximum of 2 bags per person • Charter bus service to and from Winnipeg airport to University • Charter bus service to team building event • Pre-paid gratuities for all private buses used for Team Ontario • 5 nights accommodation at the Pembina Hall including all taxes and service charges • Breakfast daily including tax and gratuity • Team Building day on May 30th including Lunch • Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony • Team Ontario shirt, Flags and Bam Bams • Closing Award Ceremony

Toolbox To ensure that toolboxes are correctly located in each event site for contest start time and security purposes, toolboxes must be securely packed in appropriate containers and must have labels clearly stating the following (your labels are in the Skills registration package): Competitor’s name Province / Territory Contest Number Contest Name Failure to comply with this labeling system may mean that toolboxes will not be accepted at the Registration. Toolboxes must be labeled properly before Skills Canada – Winnipeg takes possession and responsibility for the toolboxes.

  9. Toolbox Air Canada baggage allowances. All Bags are now charged a fee so please pack conservatively. • Max. weight per bag: 23kg (50lb) Max. linear dimensions per bag: 158 cm (62in) • For an extra fee we can take bags up to the following weight and size, but not over that. • Overweight bag: for bags between 23-32kg (50-70lb) Oversized bag: between 158-292cm (63-115in) Any bags/tool boxes over these sizes and weights cannot go on the flight with you and must go cargo and will arrive in 2 to 3 days…… much too late for your competition.

  10. Total Cost of Prepaid Packages • Competitor’s and Advisor’s single rooms: $1797.00 • Airfare for some locations may be additional cost

Terms and Procedures for Bookings • BOTH the SCNC Registration Form and the Goligers online booking form MUST be completed in order to confirm your participation on Team Ontario by Friday, May 5th • A limited number of rooms are available for our Team Ontario group • It is essential that you contact Goliger’s TravelPlus to confirm your travel package • This is done separately from your SCNC registration with the Skills office and is due by Friday, May 5th • As a competitor, you MUST arrive on May 29th (please contact Janet McVeigh @ Goliger’s TravelPlus for assistance with your reservations)
