UNC Charlotte and CPCC share a long history. The introduction of the Passport Program was a natural progression in our relationship.
Why was the Passport Program established? • Natural step in our already established relationship • Followed the model set by other established “bridge” programs (Clemson, University of Missouri, Penn State, Oregon State University, University of Alabama, Oklahoma State University, IUPUI) • Took the best aspects from these programs to develop the Passport Program • Students have higher transfer and success rates in established programs
Who gets admitted to the Passport Program? • Applicants to UNC Charlotte (application growth of over 11% this year) • Passport students are identified during the application review process • Passport students are typically students who would have been admissible in prior years. These are students who we feel would be successful at UNC Charlotte after completing transfer coursework.
How is the Passport Program different from the regular transfer process? • Dual-advising • No need to reapply to UNC Charlotte, we will update your application • Earlier notification of admission to UNC Charlotte • Special courses and seminars offered only to Passport students • Transition activities offered at UNC Charlotte
