Recess& Lunch All of the first graders sit with their classes. You can send in money for lunch, or pre-purchase lunch tickets. Please label money for lunch tickets and put in a sealed envelope, so it does not get confused with spending money for the school store.
Math: • We begin our math activities each day by looking at the calendar and weather. Students will be engaged in a mathematical thinking environment that encourages problem solving through the use of manipulatives, group work, hands-on learning, and literature. TOUCHPOINTS

Our Class Rules 1. Be a good listener. 2. Raise your hand before speaking. 3. Keep hands and feet to yourself. 4. Walk quietly in the hallway. 5. Be kind to others.
BEHAVIOR • “Nice” with boundaries • Structure and Discipline • When not making a good choice, a student is first given a warning. • If the negative behavior continues a note goes home and/or a phone call is made. • All students begin on “Green” every day.
Class Parties • I do not have a single “Class Mom/Dad” for our classroom. Rather, I post a list of all the parties, and ask parents to sign up for each one. This gives every parent the opportunity to come in and be in charge of a party if he/she wishes to do so. • There is one party in which all parents are welcome to attend – and that is the End of the Year Party. • Birthdays may be celebrated in class. You can drop off a treat at the front desk that we can share in school. If you want to come in for your child’s birthday you must give me ONE WEEK NOTICE, and also be aware that birthday celebrations last no longer than 10-15 minutes. • Party invitations for outside of school may be distributed in class, but only if all the children are invited (or all of the boys/all of the girls). • Class Party Sign Up Sheet
