  6. Your Task Create your own Rube Goldberg inspired political cartoon! But…where do I start?

  7. How to Begin • Begin by coming up with a concept. (Think about your perspective on your topic.) • Come up with a message. • Brainstorm different ways to express that message in images. (Recall the different ways political cartoonists use satire, caricature, sarcasm, symbolism etc…)

  8. Then… 4. Think about what your Rube Goldberg machine should be able to do. Where does it begin? Where does it end? -What is the purpose of the machine? 5. Begin sketching. 6. Once you have a sketch, then begin working on how your Rube Goldberg machine will work.

  9. Finally Add color (or shading), details, words, and titles.
