Constitution Changes • President – One year Term • New position: Vice President of Instruction New Proposed Section: Vice President Section 8.   The Vice President shall assume the following primary responsibilities: • 8.1 Collaborate with the Executive Director and the President-elect to plan the fall and spring conferences; including pre-conference workshops and institutes. • 8.2   Meeting regularly with the Board Treasurer to establish, monitor, and review the conference budgets and establish sponsorships for the fall and spring conferences.

  19. Upcoming important legislation • AB 1340 (Chiu): Gainful Employment (for profit). Monitors outcomes of students that attend for profit and allow earlier intervention • AB 1343 (Eggman): 85% - 15% or 50% on Instruction • AB 1344 (Bauer-Kahan): Requires private online providers comply with California quality and protection standards • AB 1346 (Medina): Expands definition of economic loss to include all amounts paid by a student to the institution • AB 1504 (Medina): Requires CCC to collect (if a SBA has been established) a $2 fee at the time of registration per semester/quarter. $1 would be expended to establish and support the operation of a statewide community college organization for all student feeds collected. Students may opt out (per existing law) • SB 777 (S. Rubio): 75/25 (workgroup discussion) • AB 1364 (B. Rubio): Clinical sites for nursing. Poses safety risk to patients and risk to existing clinical placement slots.
