Introduction • What is MUSE? • Is a Digital Library that provides full-text retrieval of a collection of songs • Uses mg at the back end
Motivation • Almost everyone has an MP3 collection that is growing and is treasured • Searching for MP3s is a painful job, since the search is generally by filename • On the Web, typically it is necessary to execute separate searches in order to get lyrics and/or audio files
The Collection • A set of MP3 files that have lyrics embedded as a Lyrics3 tag and meta-information embedded as an ID3 tag
The Project • Allows a full text index on the lyrics and meta-information of the songs using mg • Provides searching and browsing capabilities on the collection
