  11. Blend colours together eg. make pink (red + white)

  12. Make sure you have: *Start with the Background -Mid-ground -Foreground -Horizon Line

  13. Emphasis:Create emphasis by picking a focal point The single tree is a focal point in many of ‘The Group of Seven’ Paintings

  14. Unity:Create unity by using repetition of... -Shape: round edges -Colour: blue & pink in sky, water and rocks -Texture-smooth rocks, tree trunk, mountains

  15. Use a toothpick to add more detail to foreground

  16. Checklist: -Background(less detail), Mid-ground, Foreground (more detail) -Emphasis (focal point)-an area that stands out (eg. Tree) -Unity-A colour used throughout the piece- (eg, orange in the sky, rocks, mountains) -Neatness and Detail
