8th Grade Individual Graduation Plan (IGP)? • An Individual Graduation Plan is a road map that guides students toward their education, career and employment goals. • Discuss high school graduation requirements. • Discuss college & career goals. • Review teacher recommendations and explore results. • Review CBH academies and majors. • Map out 9th grade; 4 core and 4 electives. • Complete IGP and Registration.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS *Each student must earn 24 Carnegie units to receive a S.C. High School Diploma. • English/Language Arts 4 credits • Mathematics 4 credits • Natural Science 3 credits • US History 1 credit • Economics ½ credit • US Government ½ credit • Other Social Studies 1 credit • PE or JROTC 1 credit • Computer Science 1 credit • Electives 7 credits • Foreign Lang. or CTE Elective 1 credit • Total 24 credits
BCSD’s Honors Diploma • Complete a minimum 28 credits • Receive no grade below 77 • Earn 4 credits in high school in each of the core subject areas • Complete at least half of the core subjects taken at the honors, dual credit, or AP level • Earn 3 Foreign Language credits • Earn minimum 3.7 GPA • Must meet one of following requirements: * 2 AP * 1 AP and 2 dual credits * 4 dual credits
Four-year College Entrance Requirements • Satisfy all Graduation Requirements • Complete 3 Lab Sciences (Biology I, Chemistry, Biology 2, or Physics) • Complete 1 Fine Arts • Complete 2-3 years of the same Foreign Language • Take the SAT and/or ACT by 11th grade

NCAA Eligibility www.eligibilitycenter.org Athletes must register with the Eligibility Center by end of junior year. • The SAT score used for NCAA purposes includes only the critical reading and math sections. • The ACT score used for NCAA purposes is a sum of the following four sections: English, mathematics, reading and science • Division I must earn 16 core • Must earn a minimum 2.300 GPA in 16 core courses • 10 of which must be completed before the start of the seventh semester (7 must be in English, Math, Science) • Must earn a combined SAT or ACT score that matches your core-course GPA on the sliding scale • Ex: GPA 2.375 must have 870 or ACT sum 72 • Division II must earn 16 core • Must earn a minimum core GPA requirement of 2.2 • Must earn a combined SAT or ACT score that matches your core-course GPA on the sliding scale

SAT • 3 COMPONENTS PLUS WRITING • Reading • Writing & LANGUAGE • Math • Writing is optional • 400-1600 Scale Score • Questions increase in difficulty level. • Questions are evidence and context-based. • Includes Trigonometry, formulas are provided. • Answer every question, there is no penalty for guessing.
State Supported Scholarships • Palmetto Fellows • Score SAT 1200 (Critical Reading + Math) or ACT 27, Minimum GPA 3.5, and top 6% at the end of the sophomore, junior, or senior year. OR Score SAT 1400 or ACT 32 and GPA 4.0 Could receive $6,700 freshman year, and possibly up to $7,500 each year thereafter
State Supported Scholarships LIFE SCHOLARSHIP • For a 4-year college, must have 2 of the 3 qualifiers • 3.0 Final GPA • Top 30% of Graduating Class • 1100 SAT Score or 24 ACT Score • Up to $5,000 per academic year • For a 2-year college… • Must have a final 3.0 GPA! • Up to the cost of tuition plus $300 for books
State Supported Scholarships • HOPE Scholarship --Only available at Four-Year Schools --3.0 FINAL GPA $2,800 for the first academic year • Lottery Tuition Assistance Program --Only available at Two-Year Schools --Must complete the FAFSA Award money varies by academic year.
