Categories • Air Quality • Product Resource Management • Process Resource Management • Environmental Stewardship • Community Relations
Category 1 • Air Quality • 75% or greater of particleboard purchased meets the formaldehyde emissions levels of the EPP • 75% or greater of MDF purchased meets the formaldehyde emission levels of the EPP • Finished Products are finished domestically and finishes used emit no greater HAPS than allowed by local plant operating permits
Category 2 • Resource Management – Product • 75% or greater of particleboard purchased meets the EPP for recycled/recovered fiber content • 75% or greater of MDF purchased meets the EPP for recycled/recovered fiber content • On File written documentation and certificates for resource management
Category 3 • Resource Management – Process • Energy Conservation Program • A documented energy conservation program must be in place • Quarterly Meeting to suggest improvements • Programmable Thermostats • Motion Detectors • Lights • New Spray Booths • Timer so they shut down when not in use within 2 min. • Compressed Air Audit • Leaks – identified and repaired • Lighting audit by Alliant Energy • Replaced metal halide fixtures with T8 six bulb fixtures
Category 3 Continued • Resource Management – Process (continued) • Active recycling program for processing wastes • Cardboard • Paper • Wood • Solvents • Paint • Paint related wastes, (rags,etc.) • Empty Drums • Light Bulbs • Batteries • Used Oil
