  2. Personal History – Early Life • Steven L. Beshear was born on September 21st, 1944. • Beshear was one of five children to parents Russell and Mary Elizabeth Beshear. • He was raised in a Baptist household • He was raised to do community service and promote hard work • Born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky

  3. Political Life • Elected in November 2007 • Went into office December 10th, 2007 • Became Kentucky’s 62nd governor in November 2007 • Political Party: Democrat • Faced tough financial decisions resulting the collapse of U.S. housing market

  4. One Contribution to American Way of Life • Beshear helped restore public trust by making culture of integrity in state govt. • That included rooting cronyism, implementing stronger ethics standards

  5. Another Contribution to American Way of Life • Beshear announced that the DRC Industries plan to add 25 jobs to encourage investment job growth in Carroll County

  6. Lasting Importance • In my opinion, Beshear is important • He provided many options for success and careers for the people that don’t have any jobs or much education while also increasing govt. industries.
