Ordering Codes • Left click and hold on the code you want to move • Drag the held code to the new position • Drop (turn lose) the mouse button to re-position the code.
Customize Codes • Close Customize Codes Form • Close and re-open FireRMS • Your newly created codes are ready to use. But where do you use them? • Use these in Vehicles, Equipment, Hydrant • When you are creating a custom tab, and add a combo box you can use this category and codes.

NFPA 901 Questions • What is NFPA 901? • Standard Classifications for Incident Reporting and Fire Protection Data. • Why use is a 901 code? • They maximize the value of sharing fire department data.
NFPA 901 Continued • NFPA 901 helps fire departments and other fire protection organizations effectively share data with other agencies. It provides a common language and definitions that define and describe: • Pre-incident environments, such as fire defense features of a structure • Fire and other emergency incidents • Post-incident damage assessments • Fire service data
Customize Codes > 901 Codes • Can I change anything else? • You cannot change anything but NFPA allows departments to further sub-divide 901 codes. • These are called code plus codes. You can add a number 0-9 or an alphabet character a-z to further track what is happening. Only the original 901 code is reported to NFIRS, the code plus can be reported on by you.
Customize Codes > 901 Codes • Can I delete these codes? • You can delete 901 codes (be careful). • Why do I have to be careful? • What about legacy data • Will the code be needed again • You can undelete a code, but it will be at the bottom of the list and you will have to re-order it manually.
Keyboard Shortcuts • Typing the letter (n) in any date field will set the date and time to the local computers date and time at the time of the key press. • Typing the letter (t) in any date field will set the date to the local computers current date at the time of the key press.
Keyboard Shortcuts • Typing the letter (y) in any date field will set the date to yesterdays date. • Typing the character (+) in any date field will set the date to Tomorrows date. • Typing the character (++) in any date field will set the date to Two days out date.
Keyboard Shortcuts • Typing the character (-) in any date field will set the date to yesterdays date. • Typing the character (--) in any date field will set the date to Two days back date. • Typing the letter (f) on any 901 code based field will bring up the 901 code explorer.
Keyboard Shortcuts • While on any combobox field or pop-up list, typing the first number or character you are looking for will jump you to the typed point in the list. • When tabbing through a form and you stop on a combo box pressing the space bar will open the list.
Keyboard Shortcuts • When tabbing through a form and you stop on a combo box pressing the down arrow will select the first item. • When tabbing through a form and you stop on a combo box pressing the ALT key plus the down arrow will open the list.
