LEADERSHIP AS PARTNERSHIP • EXCHANGE OF PURPOSE: • Every worker at every level is responsible for defining vision and values. • A RIGHT TO SAY NO: • Any body has right to say “no” on any idea presented. • JOINT ACCOUNTABILITY: • Each person is responsible for outcomes and results whether success or failure. • ABSOLUTE HONESTY: • When power is distributed people are more likely to tell the truth. LEADERSHIP VERSUS MANAGEMENT • Every leader is a manager but every manager is not a leader. • Leader present vision. Manager implement it. • Management deals with planning, organizing, leading and controlling while leadership deals with change, inspiration, motivation and influence. LEADERSHIP VERSUS MANAGEMENT • Management is more formal and scientific than leadership. Management is set of tools and techniques of planning, budgeting and controlling. • Leader is inspirational figure.
