DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ECT & MULLEN CORRUGATED PAPER Corrugated boxes - Atlanta GA
Corrugated boxes in Atlanta GA that pass the ECT Test have been tested for top-to- bottom compression strength. If a customer wants to know about the maximum weight a box can stand, then ECT is your test.
The Mullen Test for boxes measures bursting strength of the corrugated linerboard. Many customers prefer Mullen tested boxes for handling heavier stuff because they are concerned about the linerboard bursting.
1. ECT (Edge Crush Test) corrugated paper has a higher amount of recycled content than Mullen corrugated paper.
2. ECT corrugated paper is usually less expensive than Mullen corrugated paper.
3. Mullen paper has a higher concentration of virgin material than ECT. Virgin material typically comes from new wood (IE: Logs, wood chips, etc.).
