  6. Tooth decay … …is one of the most common childhood diseases …it can be stopped

  8. How Teeth Decay … • There are millions ofGOOD andBADbacteria in our mouths • The badbacteriain plaque eats the sugar and changes it into acid • Theaciddamages the enamel on the teeth • Which then causesdecayor holes in our teeth

  9. What can cause tooth decay? • Eating and drinking lots of sugary snacks and drinks • Not brushing teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste

  21. Brush teeth twice a day to stop decay and gum disease • Use a small, medium toothbrush • Use fluoride toothpaste 1350 to 1500 ppm (see on tube) • Cleaning between teeth

  25. Are these teeth clean ? We should clean our teeth twice a day. But do we always do it properly ?

  28. Flossing • For getting in between the teeth where the tooth brush does not reach • Reduces the chances of decay in between teeth and gum disease

  29. Make sure you wear a fitted mouthguard for contact sports If you hurt your mouth or teeth get advice straight away Play well
