RA II Expert Group on Climate Services Work Plan 2014-2016 Tasks: • To foster, promote and advise on the implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS), particularly its Climate Services Information System (CSIS) and User Interface Platform (UIP) in the Region, including through pilot projects (ToR a-i); • To assist and advise the president of RA II on all matters relevant toimplementation and operation of Regional Climate Centres (RCCs) in the Region (ToR a-ii); • To promote the use of Global Producing Centre for Long-range Forecasts (GPC) and RCC products in national climate services (ToR a-iii); • To seek cooperation with relevant regional bodies and organizations on issues related to implementing user-targeted climate services for key sectors (for example, agriculture, water resources, health), including to foster and promote best practices in establishing national frameworks for climate services(ToR a-iv);
RA II Expert Group on Climate Services Work Plan 2014-2016 Tasks: • To identify the optimal means of meeting regional and national needs for climate information, products and services for Climate Risk Management and Adaptation (ToR a-v); • To promote best practices in and to advise on implementation of new Regional Climate Outlook Forums (ToR a-vi); • To promote best practices in climate system monitoring and operational climate watch initiatives(ToR a-vii); • To promote regionally coordinated capacity development activities in support of climate services (ToR a-viii); • To promote and advise on research initiatives required to improve operational production of climate products (ToR a-ix);

CS-03 :To promote the use of Global Producing Centre for Long-range Forecasts (GPC) and RCC products in national climate services Key Deliberables: • Linkage with Global and Regional Climate Information Producers

AgM-03: Promotion and extension of drought preparedness, management strategies and impact assessment in the Region Key Deliberables: • Assessment of operational use of seasonal to interannual climate forecast , early warning systems and applications in agriculture in the countries-members RA II • Recommendations on the improvement of the presentation of forecasts and extreme events to agricultural community along with Decision support system
