EGTCs in Germany • In Germany no legislation has been passed on the national level • federal state • competences for regulations and authorizations on behalf of local and regional authorities are on the level of the states (Lander) • each state should disclose its competent authority for the authorization of EGCTs • in Baden-Wurttemberg  District Government of Freiburg

EGTCs in Baden-Wurttemberg • So far only one EGCT has been prepared and approved by our authority:  „Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau“ Members: • municipality of Strasbourg in France and the • Landkreis Ortenau in Germany with some of its municipalities together ammounting to one million inhabitants
