Impact of measures taken on Enrollment at Westergard • Board Approval for the Creation of a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program at Melton ES which drew students from Westergard • Board Approval to allow variances for students in the Westergard zoning area • Remodeled interior walls to create extra classrooms at Westergard • Results: • Westergard enrollment dropped 34 students over 2012/13 SY • Westergard dropped from six team teaching classrooms to three • Verdi ES enrollment increased 8 students over 2012/13 SY • Melton ES enrollment increased 35 students over 2012/13 SY

Northwest Rezoning Process Schedule • January 6-17 – Finalization of Rezoning Committee member selection • January 20-24 - Rezoning process materials and information sent out to committee members • January 29 - 1st committee meeting; orientation process and springboard presentation • February 5, 12, and 19- committee meetings to develop draft final of the rezoning plan • February 26 -final committee meeting for approval of recommended rezone plan to take to the Board • March 3 – March 6 - individual school parent meetings to present recommended plan • March 11 -Recommended rezoning plan presented to the Board as a Information Item • March 25 -Board approval of the rezoning plan NOTE: The number of committee meeting dates is subject to change based upon the actual time necessary to develop the recommended rezoning plan
