What does the trip not include? • Additional meals while traveling en route to our next city/homestay • Spending money • Entrance fees for “spur of the moment” activities (movie, tapas, etc.)
Expectations • Students are to participate fully in the program. • Eating the local cuisine • Speaking Spanish • Abiding by all trip rules • Staying free of alcohol, drugs and tobacco • Obeying trip leaders • Respecting the host families • Being on time for all activities, etc.
How are the two possible trips different? One day shorter Bosque tropical instead of beach see how chocolate is made zip-lining Less expensive by about 200 dollars
Consequences • Any drug / alcohol use results in immediate flight home at parents’ expense. School consequences will follow as stated in the student handbook. • Smoking violations will result in consequences that trip leaders feel are appropriate. (Students who cannot go for 10 days without tobacco are asked not to travel.) • Breaking curfew / arriving late for events is a serious offense. It not only inconveniences the entire group but also leaves a bad impression on host families, guides, and bus drivers. It worries us, too.
Miscellaneous • Valid Passport • Spending money -suggested amt. $30-$50/day • Signed code of conduct for students who travel
