  2. Informacje Persian mathematician, geographer, astronomer and cartographer. A native of Uzbekistan who lived in the ninth century (c. 780-850). In the years 813-833 lived in Baghdad. All of his works were written in Arabic.

  3. Układ dziesiętny W nauce światowej zasłużył się głównie dzięki dwóm traktatom z zakresu matematyki. Traktat „O liczbach i działaniach na nich”. Dzięki niemu Europa zapoznała się z Indyjskim systemem dziesiętnym. Odtąd „cyfry arabskie” weszły do matematyki europejskiej i światowej.

  4. Zasady redukcji i przenoszenia Drugi traktat to podręcznik matematyki (zasady redukcji i przenoszenia), od którego pochodzi termin algebra. W dziele tym autor głównie zajmuje się rozwiązywaniem równań I i II stopnia.

  5. Pojęcie zera Jego prace pozwoliły też wprowadzić i wyjaśnić pojęcie zera, ułamków oraz funkcje sinus i tangens. Jako pierwszy ułożył tablicę dla tych funkcji.

  6. Ciekawostki • Nosił przydomek „pana tablic”. • Od jego nazwiska(w wersji łacińskiej- Algoritmi) pochodzi nazwa algorytm.
