  2. Bell Work in Sketchbook • In your sketchbook on the 8th page at the top write down answers to the following questions. Please save the bottom half of that page for your exit pass. Thanks! • 1) What do you think Non-Objective art means (guess)? • 2) What is the name of your favorite song? What are the colors you would choose if you were listening to your favorite song? Why? • 3) Think about your favorite song and draw what you see in your mind.

Agenda • Review of last time – turned in projects • How to make up? • What is non-objective art? • Demonstration • How each supply works properly • Group activity • Listen to music and represent the music with the supplies given and representing the element for each paper. • 4 songs each a different element. • Piece in A day • Clean-up • Exit Pass

Last Time • We learned how to fill out a rubric and a reflection on our piece. • We finished our symbolic art, filled out our rubric and reflection than turned in our art. • If you were not here last time you will need to turn your art into your file folder with your art, rubric and reflection completed • If you were not here last time you will also want to talk to someone in the class for notes or go to the classroom website for last class and get the information into your sketchbook from there. www.classwithlyon.com

  5. Supplies • Pick up 4 pieces of paper from the front of the room • At your tables there are : • Watercolor • Pastels • Markers • Chalk

  6. List of 4 watercolor papers • Line • Shape • Color • Movement – water on the paper first

  7. Instructions for the activities with the 4 pieces of watercolor paper • You will listen to a song • As you are listening to the song you will pick up the art media(tools) that you think fit the song • Then listen to instructions

  9. Non-objective? • After seeing only one example of a non-objective artist’s work, what is none objective to you?

  10. Non-objective artdefines a type of abstract art that is usually, but not always, geometric and aims to convey a sense of simplicity and purity

Piece in a Day • Your goal is to complete a painting • You can listen to your own music or the music that is playing in class • Make a non-objective piece that represents what you were listening too • Think about your choices: • Color - Value/tone/lights and darks • Line – starts and stops • Shape – organic or geometric • Space – between objects, overlapping • Movement – how do your lines flow or not, connect
