Opening Remarks • This presentation and attendee log will be provided on WMATA.com website • Safety Tip: OSHA has determined - four main safety hazards - falls, electrocutions, being struck by objects, and getting caught in or between hazards. To avoid being caught in machinery and power tools you should never operate any piece of equipment where the safety guards are missing or have been intentionally removed. Never wear loose clothing or anything that could hang down and get caught in moving parts and pull you in.
Introduction of WMATA Personnel • Guzel Gufranova, PRMT – Contract Administrator • Jyotindra Shah – Project Manager • Bharat Patel – Construction Engineer • Mohammad Akbar – Office Engineer The Contracting Officer and/or Contract Administrator shall be the single point of Contact prior to receipt of the Notice to Proceed letter.
Purpose • The purpose of the conference will be to provide and overview of the project, technical and contractual requirements, answer questions regarding the solicitation documents. • After today’s conference, if you have additional questions, they must be received via electronic mail to ggufranova@wmata.com (See “Explanation to Bidder” under Section Instruction to Bidders”, p.16 of Div 0). Not later than 14 Days prior to the date set for receipt of Bids.
Purpose • To promote a common understanding of: • Authority’s requirements in Volume 1 – 5 • Instructions to Bidders (Volume 1, Div0) • To provide answers to questions regarding the IFB

Bid Price Schedules, Section 00434, p.41-67 Compliance Inf-n: Section 00432, p.39 Bid Bond: 5% of the Bid Price. Section 00431 p. 35-38 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) 26%. $500,000 or more for a construction contract. Submit complete schedule of DBE participation and Letters of Intent – more details in Appendix B. All DBEsmust have current, official letter of certification from WMATA, D.C.DOT or MWUCP. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises It is the policy of WMATA, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE’s) shall have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in performing federally -assisted contracts, including contractors and subcontractors at any tier.
AWARD Apparent Low Bidder submits Pre-Award Information after Bid Opening. Don’t submit with Bid. 5 calendar days after bid opening. Section 00204 WMATA will have 120 calendar days to award the Contract p.15
Period of Performance • Largo Town Center (North) parking garage –390 calendar days after NTP • Largo Town Center (South) parking garage –900 calendar days after NTP • Vienna (North) parking garage –720 calendar days after NTP • White Flint parking garage –930 calendar days after NTP • West Falls Church parking garage –1260 calendar days after NTP • New Carrollton Parking Garage–1320 calendar days after NTP. • Forthcoming Amendment: allowable spaces to be taken at each garage will increase leading to some shorter period of performances.
