Casualties • Soldiers killed- 4,287 • Wounded- 30,182 • Iraq body count- 95,606- 104,304 As of right now these are the amount of people who have been killed or wounded in the war. Altogether 108,591 have been killed regardless if they were soldiers or Iraq citizens. This could have been prevented if the Iraq reconstruction plan was more thought out. Hundreds if not thousands of people didn’t have to die.
How much $ was spent? • We have spent 712,417,727,000 and counting for this war • Wasting more then 1,000 dollars per second • Per household they spent 6,340 • Per person we have spent 2,422 so far The cost of this war has increased dramatically over the years. Raising the costs to almost a trillion dollars, spent on a war that nobody had any clue how to resolve effectively
Iraq Today • Iraq government- They have a prime minister who is the head of a multi-party system. Iraq is divided in 18 governorates. • Ba’ath Party- It was reaffirmed on October 15, 2005. However up to 35 officials have been arrested in trying to reconstitute the Ba’ath party • Military- The Vinnell corporation on June 25, 2003 trained the first 9 battalions. The force since November 2009 is 14 divisions, each division has 4 brigades.
