  2. What is a Title I School? • Title I Schools Defined • Title I, Part A is a part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. • http://www.gadoe.org/School-Improvement/Federal-Programs/Pages/default.aspx

What are our school’s Title I requirements? • Schoolwide Plan • The purpose of schoolwideTitle I programs is to improve the entire educational program in a school which should result in improving the academic achievement of all students, particularly the lowest achieving students. The goal of such a program is to assist those students to demonstrate proficiency on academic standards.

  4. How does our school participate in the Title I program? • Set goals for improvement • Measure student progress (summative and formative assessments, benchmark assessments, and CRCT) • Develop programs or provide materials that add to regular classroom instruction • Involve or inform parents on various aspects of the school's programs

  5. What is our school’s Designation Status? • High Progress Reward School • CRCT • Reading, ELA, and Mathematics • CRCT M • Reading, ELA, and Mathematics • GAA • ELA and Mathematics • 10% of Title 1 schools (156 schools) • Highest progress in performance for the “All Students” group (n size >30) over 3 years • May not be identified as a Priority School or a Focus School
