When Registration compulsory? • Inland parcels more than 4 KG • Parcels addressed to foreign countries • Articles superscribed as “REGISTERED” even if found in LB • Insured articles • Value Payable articles • Parcels found in Letter Box • Any Registered article which is reposted after having been delivered
Prohibited article for transmission • Any thing which is in contravention of any enactment for the time being in force. • Any indecent or obscene printing, painting, photograph, lithograph, engraving book or card or any other indecent or obscene article. • Any letter, postcard, newspaper, packet or parcel having on it or on the thereof, any words, marks or design of an indecent, obscene, seditious, scurrilous threatening or grossly offensive nature. Rule 122 of Postal Manual Vol.VII
