  2. ABOUT SIS Established in 2007, Singapore International School (SIS) is the only co-ed boarding school in Mumbai situated on a 10 acre campus with modern amenities, lush green playing field, indoor badminton courts and swimming pool facilities. SIS is the largest single campus International School in Mumbai. Mumbai is multicultural city of 20 million and the financial capital of India and Head Quarter to many Indian and International Organisations, Singapore International School is the school of choice of many of their employees. SIS is intentionally set up as a signature school for 500 students from K1 to 12 with about 100 teaching faculty, in order to promote individualized learning. Nearly 30 percent of the students are boarders, and the school provides them with outstanding pastoral care and support. All students have access to a variety of extra-curricular and enrichment opportunites through programmes such as Round Square conferences, International Award for Young People (IAYP), and CAS. SIS students have designated sports and games time everyday apart from the PE lessons during which they can play sports as well as engage in music, dance, and arts/crafts. Moreover, the school also participates in interschool competitions both at the national and international level in the Arts, Sports and Model United Nations.

  3. ACADEMIC OVERVIEW The school offers a comprehensive programme consisting of four levels: K-6 follows the Singaporean curriculum within the framework of International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) and also using the Reggio Emilia approach leading to Grades 7-8 which is the Cambridge Pre-IGCSE level effectively tying in with the 9 and 10 IGCSE to finally culminating in the two years of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The academic support includes enrichment, information literacy, special education needs and gifted student programmes, personal and career counselling, in addition to sports and games and co-curricular programmes with the aim to promote individualization of learning and holistic development of each child. IBDP students choose six subjects: three at Standard Level (SL) and three at Higher Level (HL), as well as complete an Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and a Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) programme to gain their IB diploma. Integrity in College and University Application All students at SIS from Grades 9 through 12 are supported by a dedicated team of college counsellors hence they apply to a limited number of universities. An admission officer reading an application from an SIS applicant can therefore be sure that the student is a serious applicant. SIS students are required to sign and adhere to the school's Integrity in application policy. Given our close working relationships with students, SIS counsellors provide detailed in depth recommendations that best represent our students.
