"Be Not" Ecclesiastes 7. What God Wants Us To Be ! Must tear down some things. 1. Be Not Hasty to Be Angry. “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Eccl. 7:9. Don’t get in a hurry to get angry !.

  2. 1. Be Not Hasty to Be Angry “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Eccl. 7:9 Don’t get in a hurry to get angry !

  3. “He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly:” Prov. 14:17 Prov.14:29 - slow to wrath “..deferreth his anger;... Prov. 19:11 Righteous Anger is always slow.... Jas.1:19 “...slow to wrath.”

  4. Teach Children to Control Temper Eph.6:4 = Provoke not to wrath Discipline: Pro. 23:13-14 Pro. 22:15 Pro. 19:18

  5. 2. Be Not Over-Righteous “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? Eccl. 7:16 “Do not be overly righteous,” NKJV

  6. 2. Be Not Over-Righteous I Pet.1:16 “Be ye holy; for I am holy” Can we become too righteous ? Yes - Self Righteous Lk. 18:9-14 - Parable 1Pet. 5:5 “Be clothed with humility”

  7. 3. Be Not Over wise “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? Eccl. 7:16 “Nor be overly wise,” NKJV

  8. 3. Be Not Over Wise Haman - Esther 7:10 Eli’s Sons - 1 Sam. 2 Some today pretend to have an abundance of wisdom

  9. 3. Be Not Over Wise The Over-wise rob the Bible of truth -Christ was only a man -Baptism not essential -Worship any place -Marriage is not for life - There is no hell “Be not wise in your own conceits.” Rom. 12:16

  10. 4. Be Not Overmuch Wicked “Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?” Eccl. 7:17 “Do not be overly wicked,” NKJV

  11. Does not Mean we canindulge lightly in sin “Abstain from all appearance of evil” 1 Thes. 5:22 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezk. 18:4 Wickedness is direction of destruction

  12. “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse,...” 2 Tim.3:13 No standing still morally Going downward - grows worse

  13. 5. Be Not Foolish “Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?” Eccl. 7:17 “Nor be foolish:,” NKJV

  14. “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” Ps. 14:1 “...nor foolish talking,...” Eph. 5:4 Builds on Sand - Mt. 7:24-27 Not prepared to meet God - Mt. 25:1-13

  15. 6. Be Not Over Sensitive “Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:” Eccl. 7:21 “Also do not take to heart everything people say,” NKJV
