High School Technology Attraction by Women in Technology Network

Women in Technology Network at CSC Poland aims to promote diversity and inclusion in IT, providing resources and opportunities for women to excel in leadership positions. Their High School Technology Attraction program targets young students to inspire them to pursue a career in technology, breaking stereotypes and showcasing opportunities available. Through workshops, presentations, and IT games, they encourage students, especially women, to consider a technological career path and promote Citi as a women-friendly technology company. Women in Technology Network – what is it about Who we are Women in Technology Network within CSC Poland gathers local employees who work on global level in various areas as: Vendor Management, IT support, Security, Compliance, Project Management, etc. Program, launched in March 2016, follows the new Global Diversity approach. Formal Steering Committee established in November 2016. As Network we promote diversity at workplace and encourage women to develop in the area of IT and Technology. Our objectives • Implement Diversity & Inclusion culture in the hiring, development and promotions process • Provide a platform of connections, resources and opportunities • Create a pipeline of women to fill leadership positions • Help women to manage work life - balance and come back to work after maternity leave • CSC Poland to be recognized on the market as women friendly organization

We aim to empower and create a competitive advantage for Citi’s women by providing key resources, including networking, leadership training and personal & professional development. Flagship projects

  5. High School Technology Attraction – background Story of High School Technology Attraction Idea for High School Technology Attraction appearedin May 2017. After one month first event of initiative had place. We target to students from High Schools who are just before taking decisions about their future. By example of our company and diversity backgrounds of our employees we want to show them all opportunities that are available for them. We visited first schools in academic year 2016/17 and since then form of our workshops is still evolving to fulfill students’ expectations in the best way. Our aims • to encourage young people (especially women, but not only) to take a technological career path and do not follow stereotypes or artificial restrictions which they may find on the way • promote Citi as technology company

  6. Scope of workshops We start with short presentation about Citi, then we talk about gender stereotypes in the selection of professions. Students have opportunity to ask questions and share their observations. We also briefly present career opportunities in the technological areas of global companies on the example of Citi. In the second part we conductan interesting IT game that checks studentsperceptiveness, the ability to logical thinking and move around the world of the Internet. We still improve our presentation, IT game and speeches to make our listeners interested in the project we also promote in our social media channels – like fan page Citi Careers where we address our content to over 194k Facebook users.
